The conference is organized by Bahrain Medical Society (BMS) and Bahrain Association of Emergency Medicine (BAEM)

Bahrain Medical Society (BMS)

BMS is the legal and official medical nongovernmental organization (NGO) in the Kingdom of Bahrain approved by Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. It was founded in 1972.It represents all physicians in the kingdom working in either governmental or private organizations.

Our Mission is to achieve the vision by developing, designing and implementing sustainable models and programs by joining hands with authorities at root levels on one hand and with physicians on the other.

  • To advocate for patient rights and high-quality care.

BMS vision is to be the primary support and platform for the medical professionals, empowered and committed that fully participate with all health decision making authorities and program leading to better health professionalism and by being an integral part of the professional life of every physician.

Bahrain Association of Emergency Medicine (BAEM)

In 2004 a group of Emergency Physicians gathered and established the first Emergency Medicine Association in Bahrain under the name of “Bahrain Emergentologist Association (BEMASSO)”, under the governance of the Bahrain Medical Society (BMS), which was founded in 1970. The aim of this association is to promote and get the recognition of the specialty. BEMASSO was the first Arab country to join the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM) as a full member in 2006. In 2014, BEMASSO had its name changed to “Bahrain Association of Emergency Medicine” (BAEM) in official elections run by the board of directors. BAEM has also joined the Gulf Federation of Emergency Medicine (GFEM), and the Kingdom of Bahrain has been chosen to be the first of GCC to lead GFEM and host the first General Secretary. The association plays a major role in promoting and advancing the specialty in the kingdom and the region and succeeded in gaining fame and respect within the medical community. Currently, BAEM has 31 registered members.
